PINGO
Pingo is the truly the heart of the kennel. He is the oldest (and wisest) dog in training this season. He has been on every Iditarod team that I have raced for the past seven years. Pingo is one of the original Koyukuk River breedings and is happy, but tough as nails. He has some nagging "injuries", just like all of us when we age a little, but he is still plugging away. Pingo is the main stud at the kennel and has had 3 litters of pups in the last 2 years. He has helped us with our past, our present and now, our future. Pingo was named when he was a youngster and we were up on the North Slope. We were running teams in the Ribdon River with clients. We stopped and had lunch on top of a prominent pingo. One of the clients asked who that young fluffy pup was on his team. I had been calling him "Fluffy" (kind of a lame name for a studly male) and since we were sitting on the pingo - I named him Pingo. GENDER: Male OFFSPRING: Four litters |
