CHIROPRACTIC CARE:
In early fall 2006, Dr. Colleen Gelvin began working with us on a chiropractic regiment with some of our dogs. Blossom, one of our older veterans, and Petunia, one of our 2 year olds, have probably benefited the most. Blossom is running much smoother and is having less aches than she did last year. Petunia is no longer running with her head up, which in turn is releaving preasure on her back and shoulders. It has been facinating watching the process take place.

IDITAROD BLOOD TESTS:
In February, the top 24 dogs will be screened for blood and EKGs in Fairbanks. Aliy will then be able to choose 20 dogs from the 24 tested dogs to bring to the start of the Iditarod on March 6. The dogs will checked for steroids, white blood cell counts, muscle breakdown enzymes and many other things. The EKGs will look for heart murmurs and other heart related problems.

VET CHECKS:
A week before the Iditarod, every dog will have a pre-race physical exam. Their weights, temperatures and general physical condition is closely examined. We do everything we can to bring a healthy team to the starting line.
